4 tier dummy for a local competition. I did not do well. Ran right out of time, as I had a cruise in the middle of my prep time (not smart).
All fondant, gumpaste and royal icing.

Me either! That's why I asked :) And it's virtually impossible to get a vibrant red or dark enough black using gel or powder colors!
Thanks, Diane! I thought yours was gorgeous! If I remember correctly I used a 0 tip for my strings. The fondant was pre-colored red Fondarific. I can't stand to color red and black...too messy!
Hi Stacie, I didn't know you were on CWB! You did a wonderful job on your cake! I swear, we are our own worst critics, aren't we?! Don't be so hard on yourself :) I loved your cake when I saw it in ACD!! Great job! What tip did you use for your drop strings? I can imagine how difficult that was to paint them!! Did you airbrush the red or color the fondant?
Congratulations on your feature presentation in The American Cake Decorating Magazine, Stacie! Awesome work!!
BEAUTIFUL WORK OF ART ,
