All the details are made from a product called Flexipaste. It is awesome and is flexible when it dries. Petals can be rolled so thinly with out tearing and you can read print through them! If you happen to drop a flower it doesn't shatter. The petals will maintain their shape with a bit of flexibility so they look more natural when you put them on a cake.
Dragonflies were made using gelatin sheet like the butterfly one.

I have used flexipaste for quite a few cakes now and have found it wonderful to work with. I haven't tried it yet, but you can use like sugarveil and screed it into the silicon lace moulds to make flexible lace! They have recipes to use for different applications - if you're making petals, if you're making lace etc.

I was attracted to it because I have been dying to try sugarveil but just couldn't justify the cost! The nice thing about flexipaste is that not only can you make lace using a runnier recipe, but you can make flowers, roll it thinly and put it through an electronic cutter, make figures, use it to make fabric drapes and clothes for figures. I obviously have no life to be so excited about a product. LOL
This is so beautiful!!! I adore the dragonflies. Well done.
I think they do sell this in the US
