My first attempt at stained glass and this cake was inspired by Corrie's work on CC .Thanks to her for inspiration.I piped with royal icing on the design after RI dried I painted the piping with gold dust, then I mixed a combo of sugar powdered , corn syrup and colored it, then I spread it with a toothpick.

So that is your secret! I will remember that. Here all along, I have been trying to do the piping right on the cake! I'll give it a try next time doing it on the paper first, then transferring it. Good thinking! ;O)

Oh Nadia, this is just beautiful. Did the run sugar stay shiny once it was dried? Is the corn syrup why it is staying so shiny? This is work of art for sure.

Nadia, what amazes me is that you are able to do stuff like this and never have a mess! It is total perfection! You must have the steadiest hands ever. How were you able to transfer the pattern to the top so neatly?
