Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Seems like the harder I try the worst it is. I wanted this one to come out perfect but had such a hard time with the MMF. It had a spongy consistency and I did not get the polished finish I was hoping for. I am happy with the details but not the cake itself.

I do the same thing Goreti. I'll pick my cakes apart long after the "oohs & ahs" & the last crumb has been eaten. I don't think there's one cake I've done that, in my eyes, there wasn't something wrong w/it or something that could have been improved upon. We are our own worst critics. I know I am anyway. My poor husband gets so frustrated w/me b/c he always ends up hearing it all...lol

Thank you Denise.  They were thrilled with the cake but I always seem to focus on the flaws.  Have to get over that.

Thank you both.  Sandra, might not be able to tell in picture but there is a pink ribbon sewn to the top of the lace.  I have to sew it by hand because my sewing machine is not working right.  Also the cake boarder, I wanted to make it look like lace or eyelet so I used a Wilton round tip.  Needless to say it took awhile.

Lovely cake, Goreti!  Deceptively simple until you consider the incredible amount of talent and skill required to create this design.  From the adorable figure down to the choice of lace which covers the edges of the cake board, each element is so carefully thought out and expertly executed.  No, I don't think anyone will find anything wrong with this one!
