I have a heck of a job with that leaf tip too!  The ends almost always split - it's the tip I think, not us!

Thanks Goreti & June... Sandra.. This ^ tip I have is a small one ..works best for small leaves. I also don't do a ruffle looking leaf.. just squeeze and pull straight out. It does look different than the others.

Oh, Betty, I gave a tip like that.  I tried it for leaves but what I got didn't much resemble a leaf!  I'll try it again.  Thanks for the tip on pinching the ends together to form a point.  Why in the world could I not think of that?
