My husband is a big fan of Betty and I never know what to do for his Birthday cake, especially as it has to be done in secret, so this was quick and easy. I drew Betty onto fondant icing and then hand painted her in

Cheers Gail!
Thanks Kimberly - like I said, you gotta be artful and you found a neat way out!
AWSESOME JOB , I LOVE BETTY ,
Awesome job. I could never draw her. My daughter likes her and when I did my Betty cake the center that looks so nice a neat is a coaster. LOL
Very nice.
Thanks Katy, must give it a try.
Thanks Anne! Really, you know, I'm not that good - just artful (no point in getting old, without getting artful!). I found a picture on the internet that I liked and printed it out the size I wanted mine to be. I then cut around it and laid the template on the top of the cake and, using an edible ink pen drew the outline around the template. It's then really quite easy to fill in the other bits by copying. Then just paint in. You'd be amazed at the effect with just these simple steps. My mother was the true artist in our family and I think I have inherited a little of her imagination, but nothing like her talent. The secret is - take a deep breath and GO FOR IT!
Really cute, I wish I could paint like u. Is there any other way I could do this?
LOVE THAT BETTY
