This poor poor cake! I started out with a Topsy Turvy cake on this one, and all three tiers literally went Topsy Turvy and fell apart on the table! So, all of that cake went into the freezer awaiting for a cake ball day. So, had to re bake cakes. I pulled an all nighter and finished this cake at 7:00am and waited for my client to pick it up. She loved it, but about 5 minutes after she left, she called and said that the cake had taken a nose dive in the back seat (which I had warned her not to do) and wanted to know if I could help put it back together. Soooo, had to rebake another bottom tier-at least one layer of it-and it cracked coming out of the pan, really bad. (another cake for cake balls!!) Baked another bottom layer, but it ended up being too hot to work with in such short time, so I ended up freezing that layer and just making the bottom tier one layer! Needless to say.....they ended up with a lot of cake balls for the party, along with a botched up cake job. Didn't get a picture of the botch job. It was horrible! So this is the only pic I got of the second disaster after the original Topsy Turvy fiasco. =O(

Linda!  Just had an idea for all your left over cake!  Shame you don't have Guy Fawkes night over there, but maybe for Halloween?  A VOLCANO.  Put all your cake together and shape it like a volcano.  Crush up some red, orange, yellow boiled sweets and run them down one side like lava.  Just before serving, pour hot chocolate sauce all over the top, so it runs down and stick an indoor sparkler in the top for an eruption.  Or instead of the sweets, you could run strawberry sauce down it.  Bingo - dessert!

George is my driver when we deliver and I usually stay in the back of our van and keep an eye on things. George knows exactly how slow to go, how to ease up on those stops and turns, plus, if it is a very stressful trip with lots of cake to watch over, he puts the hazard lights on and drives like an old granny the whole way. I stink at being the driver because I have a lead foot. I've lost a cake or two on my watch, so I really appreciate my husband's patients as the driver. He's been honked at several times...we just have learned to ignore those honks.

Thank you Rima. Well, I am guestimating on how many I can get, of course, but since we got over 50 just off the top layer of the bottom tier of the above cake, and it was a ten inch cake, (and I noticed that the 2 girls were doing some pretty heavy duty sampling as they worked) not to mention their cake balls were the size of golf balls or bigger, and the topsy turvy cake was 3 layers each tier and my one smaller chest freezer is half full with just the cake, the other half was filled with cake mixes. But at the rate George is eating cake....there may not be any left! He acts like this is a free for all! June, to be fair, she did have it on the floor and not on the back seat, but even so, she has made cakes herself and sold them, so she really should have known better.

Aw Linda - what a drama.  You pull an all nighter then she crashes it - what the.......!?  It is lovely though of course coming out of the Wolff kitchen.  1000 cake balls - the mind boggles.
