I really love this cake!  Purple is my favourite colour, and I love the look of embroidery but have never attempted it.  I was a graphic artist in another "life" but for some reason drawing on a cake makes me nervous LOL!  I shall have to take lessons from you.

thanks so much, gail :D I haven't painted (on canvas) in more than a year, I guess painting on a cake was a bit fun for me. I finally realized what I really want to do - and that's to be a really good cake decorator. Thanks to you guys! :)

Goreti, I'm so sorry to hear about your finger! No worries about the name thing, even people I know misspell it sometimes (including my godmothers lol). That must really hurt, especially if one of your nails is involved. I used to have a lot of those, not fun at all. are you sure it isn't going to require stitches? be more careful. take care of that wound. :)

Tracy, thank you! Yes, she was. I brought it to the restaurant where we celebrated her birthday. There were 2 slices that were left and she specifically told everyone not to touch those 2 slices because she wanted to eat them when she gets home. lol I think, I'll be the one to make her wedding cake for next year. It's gonna be my first wedding cake if ever. I'm really excited about that. :D
