These are spice cakes covered in buttercream with a large round tip. The honey is yellow tinted gel. Bees are buttercream bodies with almond wings. I topped them with candies made from Winnie the Pooh molds.

Thanks to each of you. They are upside down cupcakes. I piped the bees directly on the hives since they were so simple. I air-dry buttercream roses all the time. I usually let them dry overnight and they are pretty easy to pick up and move with a butter knife without messing them up. You could probably do the same with these bees. Or you could always make them with royal icing. I'm just not that crazy about making royal icing. And yes, I did make the candy pops to go on top. Thanks again!

I love the imagination in these cupcakes.  first of all I assume that you possibly did not use cupcake papers and then put the cupcake upside down to do the hive?  Am I right?.  very cute.  How long before you did these did you make the bumblebees so you could pick them up w/o smooshing them?  Very neat idea.  Did you also make the winnie pops?
