Baby Shower Cake for Felix
This cake definitely does not look like a typical baby shower cake. That’s because the recipient had strong ideas….and one was that the cake not look like a baby shower cake!!! No baby paraphernalia on the cake…diapers, baby bottles, baby blue colour etc. No foo foo flowers either……AND no fondant!! Yikes….what to do???? So I came up with the bluey/ greenish, grey colours in buttercream. A gumpaste bow, combo paper/gumpaste butterflies and a paper doily flower….didn’t think the paper flower seemed too foo foo….hee hee

June, this is AWESOME! I love the swirled buttercream and everything just works together perfectly. I guess sometimes a finicky customer can push us outside the box and come up with a winner.
I presume she loved the cake???

Had to tell from the pic, but the dark colour is actually grey. So it was grey and bluish/green. :o)
