Completely understand Betty - I guess you work by instinct after all these years. What is your favoured tip number then?

Thanks for the compliment. Yes i like doing them separately & let them air dry, that way I can place them at the angle I want instead of just being flat on the cake. They are still slightly soft in center but firm enough to be picked up. Don't mine sharing whatever I've learned just don't know how to say it in a tutorial.
Betty - you're awesome. Do you always do them separately first or do you sometimes pipe direct onto the cake? I suppose you don't feel inclined to try and put together some kind of tutorial on how you do these for us lesser mortals?..................
