Chocolate sponge with fudge filling (bottom tier) Strawberry sponge with strawberry filling. Face needs a bit more work, hands may not survive the jouney.

Sounds like a very good plan to me! I know the feeling on a much smaller scale - was making carol singer cake toppers and one little hand persistently dropped off. Must have restuck it 4 or 5 times before the blighter stuck!
