My Chapters has very little in the way of decorating books. All the good ones are online, so you really can't look at them. And my library here has zero to look at. All the good books like Alan Dunn, Toba Garret, etc. are in the Toronto libraries, and the wait time to get one to lend is months & months. I figure what ever Alan Dunn book I get, I can't go wrong... and hey... it's almost free.

Gail, what I did was purchase the one that the library didn't have because there are always something in each book that I like.
June, lucky you getting the new book. Can't wait to see some new flowers from you.

cool June, CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU DO I love Alan Dunn books ! which ones do you think are the best , I look at them all the time ! never know what ones are the best if I wanted to purchase 1 ?

I have 3 Craftsy classes. I never seem to have a whole chunk of time to watch the video & then execute the making of. It is a matter of setting apart a day, like you were going to school, & doing it. Plus it would help if hubby wasn't around for that day. I actually won a cake decorating book at my cake club meeting last Monday. I had one similar, so I took it back to Chapters & got a gift card. I am going to get Alan Dunn's new sugar flower book that comes out in July. If I pre order online I get it for 1/2 price & I have enough left for another decorating book. Woo Hoo I like the step by step pic approach. :o)

I kept skipping ahead on that video just to get an idea of what she did. Then I googled an image and tried to make it as close as possible to the real thing. I still haven't finished the craftsy class that I won.

That is my problem too. Love making the flower elements. ... but the waiting to assemble, bit by bit. That does drive me crazy. And I am bad at watching videos. ... boring... I want to "hurry up " and maks something. .. :o)

Tx June. The funny thing is that I don't have a problem with taking my time to do the petals & such. It's the waiting for them to dry that I don't have the patience for. I broke a few of the centers one before I realized that I had not choice but wait. It was either that or having to redo them. I'm always anxious to see the finished product.
