Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

This cool llama with the cute smirk was for a 12 year old's birthday.
It was handcarved and decorated with piping only. No form pans were used...
Resting on a 20"x 24" gold metallic cake board he made quite an impression!
The cake was Spice Cake w/pecan coconut filling and Cream Cheese Frosting.

Your fondant creations are amazing! I haven't working much with fondant, it doesn't seem to be that appealing (taste wise) to my customers. I've noticed at events the fondant seems to remain on the plate and the cake is eaten around it. Is that your experience?

i also have the same backround !, and had my own florist yr's ago ! and it duz help . i still cant pipe !

Thanks again, I have a background in graphic arts, painting and sculpting so they come in real handy with the cake decorating. I guess the medium is just different...
