Yes that sounds like what I use, you can find them in most craft stores. It is quite a conversation piece when I bring these to parties. Good luck!

I am in Australia and we don't have popsicles. lol. So probably a "paddle pop stick" would be the same thing..? Is it wooden flat and rounded at the ends and about 4 1/2" or 11cm long? Thanks so much for replying, I just love this idea..what a lovely present for so many occasions.

They are attached to half of a thick popsicle stick stuck in a styrofoam ball. I've never had a problem with them sliding off or falling down. I guess I just angle the sticks right and have good luck. Though with these I took them off after the picture to transport them to the shower.

Lovely, very clever. Are the cupcakes attached to wire or skewers and how do they not slide down?
