Very true Linda, if the client is willing to pay for many hours of work of doing those detailed handwork, great and fine by me, If not, they settle for a very similar look for less money. As it is, I spend countless hours on each cake. if it is a gift, then I decide. One thought though, brides hand us anything to use as a topper on a wedding cake, ceramics, bling, plastic...and those are ok...and yet, we are not suppose to use anything unreal on our cakes???

absolutely not! Heck, I used to use silk flowers and strands of fake pearls for years on my wedding cakes! I didn't know it was a no-no to do so. hahaha! You do what you have to do, and the client doesn't know any better anyway. And, they are the ones paying for it, so they are the only one that count in my book.

Thank you Linda, hopefully I am not offending your eyes by using real ribbons.

.....and, it is still just an eye catching beauty! It's how you have put it all together that makes it so lush looking.

Sandra, how did you do the border on this cake? Your cakes just look so elegant.
