Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Did this one following Amelia Carbine's tutorial on cakefu. Turned out a lot better than I expected, so I am very pleased with it!

YUP, or it was!

I picked the vase up to move it, and it started to wilt before my very eyes!  The petals all started sticking together, then they kinda just ...slid off their wires, an ooey gooey mess!  So I had to toss it out.  It  was exposed to too much humidity from all the rain.

Is that really icing?

My calix always break off!  In fact, I've stopped even bothering with them if it is a full blown rose because they don't really show anyway and it just hurts my feelings when they break.

Hi Gail!  Thanks for stopping by, and for the nice compliment!

Thanks!  And it was brittle, the calix, which was hanging down away from the base, broke off, piece by piece, each time I picked it up.

Of course, silly Bonnie, I mean it.  I do not waste my time giving compliments I do not sincerely feel.

It looks too soft to be gum paste.  Mine look (and are) brittle!  Lovely.
