Client's boyfriend insisted on carrying the cake, and well, he didnt keep it level. This was at night on a Jetty going out to a yacht..Next thing the whole top slipped to the side. I tried my best to make it look 'decent', but there was really nothing I could do short of starting over! Luckily the yacht was taking them out to sea, and a lot of bumpy waves were expected! Just so sad to see all the hard work end up looking like this. Moral of the story: CARRY YOUR OWN CAKE! :)

Too sad! It was lovely though! Have been there as well!
I struggle with letting my cakes go and I drive like a turtle while delivering one. Gasping for breath each hill, bump or lane change. Someday I guess I'll get to the point when it's easier to hand them over. I feel your pain. great work though!
Oh my gosh...I feel your pain!
That is too bad. I can imagine how you felt. My husband won't touch my cakes. I made a 3 tiered cake for our niece and it was quite heavy. When I asked him if he would carry it for me, he said "No Way".
Oh dear Frances - I do sympathise on this one.
