So you immigrated to Australia. Where abouts were you from originally???  I had to laugh when you said you were showing your employer "some things"....  hee hee   Don't feel you are any less a decorator just because you are self taught. The Admin of my cake club has been decorating & has her own business 40 yrs +, and with the exception of a few classes, is completely self taught. AND in my opinion, a better decorator than some of the pros associated with my group!!!!  I took lessons 100 yrs ago... hee hee, when my son was I think 2-3 yrs old??  My daughter will be 34 in 4 wks & my son just turned 29. Decorating went on the back burner cause both kids were involved in competitive sports. We were busy nearly every wknd. No time for caking. Re-started when I made my niece's wedding cake in 2006. It is just a hobby, making for family & friends... and the occasional customer. Which is fine for me. I am retired now, so can fiddle with caking to my hearts content....  :o)
