Hi Suzie, Thank you so much for taking the time to write all the directions for the giraffe cake. , I really appreciate it. I'm sure my grandson will love it. Thank you, Thank you.
Thanks for all your lovely comments, I have only been doing this about 18 months, and apart from a lesson in orchid making, I have never done a class, have you? I love your baby giraffe and the pea pods! Did you make the figurines for the little Einstein cake or are they plastic? Can't really tell from the pic. Are you a member of the Cake decorators guild? Look forward to hearing from you
Suzie, I love your cakes, they all have so much character. You certainly do wonderful work... and thank you for sharing your instruction for the Giraffe. By they way...your Guinea Pig is so cute..
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I am going to be in Australia next year...it's not New Zealand, I know, but it's a lot closer than I am at the moment here in Scotland! The information should be posted on my website soon. I'm still in discussions but it has been confirmed that I will be coming. Good luck in all that you do. I hope to see you somewhere along the way. Cheers!
Hi Suzie - I've joined. Crazy you messaged me. Your Giraffe cake was the one which inspired me into cake decorating! I was searching for a Giraffe cake for my nephews birthday about a month or so ago. It's next weekend so I'm going to get started on Monday.
Hi! I made my fondant last night using the michele foster recipe from cakecentral.
Tonight I will bake the body from a pudding bowl and will bake two halves of my wilton 3d ball (so desperate to use this) that way I will use one half of the ball carved for the head and one half chopped up for the legs.
Then I am going to freeze over night, and butter cream Wednesday night, keep refrigerated till after my Wilton one class on Thursday. After my class I will then fondant the pieces all ready to put together at the party. Party is on Sunday, so do you think it will be ok in the fridge Friday / Saturday?
OK perfect will leave on bench. Thanks for your help. I'll post a pic no matter how crap it looks : ) We have back -up monster cup cakes in mind if all goes terribly wrong, but I'm sure it'll be ok!
