Okay, so I tried the marshmallow fondant. Remind me not to roll it out too thin next time and not to knead it too much. At least I'm adventureous. pics will be posted at a later time. Need to show to instructor first. BTW, quite tasty.

Teri, I know I was very lucky to have her as my teacher. This is one reason why I am so excited about the news of something new. And she is being good by just telling us there is something new for June - I'm counting down the days. I am basically teaching myself more decorating techniques on my own but I do miss classes with Melissa.

Wendy, you'll have to let me know how everything turned out with your marshmallow fondant. I do have a recipe for marshmallow fondant that I feel is really good and tasty. You'll have to let me know which one you used.

I used a recipe from Cake Central. It was prettyeasy to make and taste great. The only prblem I had was I let it reast over night and it got too hard, so...I nuked it! Got it soft, too soft, so u can imagine. One cake I covered cake out ok (remember, I'm new to cake decorating) the second, with the soft fondant, well, you'll see the pics later. Always a learning experience. I just made the best of it. LOL

Letting it rest overnight shouldn't have made it that hard. I'm wondering if maybe there was too mauch powdered sugar added. Did you wrap it real good in saran wrap and then place in a plastice bag? If it's nit wrapped up tightly it may have had air hit it to make it hard also.

Windy, I'm sure your cake has turned out fine. All of your cakes are very nice. I love your little animal characters.

I had it wrapped up in seran wrap with crisco and the reprapped in a plastic bag. I ran out of ziploc bags. I actually had to add more ps to it and the second cake I wrapped was a little better. I think I also rolled it too thin.

I love creating figures and flowers. I wish there was someone or a school in the area reasonably priced for classes. :S

I love Lorraine McKay and her figures, but I can't afford her classes right now.
