I'm from the Youngstown area - an hou from Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Akron. A great location, really - but being stuck in the Rust Belt makes life interesting. We're own little world up here. I went to Ohio State for a year - Columbus is a great city.

Hi everyone! I am Beverly Hansford from Cincinnati, Ohio. I took a class on cake decorating 3 years ago and found my passion! I work full time and do cakes for my friends and family. I started what I call a cake ministry about 2 years ago and do a lot of cake for single moms that can't afford them for their children. I never realized how important a birthday cake is to a child. I have been blessed beyond meassure and I enjoy cake decorating so very much.

You know, it seems like that door just opened up one day. My daughter has a friend who is a single parent of twin girls and she needed a cake so it started off with her. From there it was word of mouth. I started hearing from people who knew of people who were in need. I started buying Duncan Hines cake mixes when I could find them on sale, sometime I would get them for as little as a dollar. When they were that cheap I would pick up 30 to 40 at a time. I make my own buttercream icing and the cost isn't that much. I ask God to bless the seeds I am planting and it seems I always have the extra money to keep this ministry going for the past two years. To see all the smiles of children when they get that cake is just wonderful.
