Hoping to learn more about area cakers and willing and wanting to share some of my flops with some who will understand when I want to throw the cake through the window (without opening it first). :)

I'm looking for a local source for gumpaste flowers, I haven't quite gotten the knack to make them good enough for my cakes. (I keep trying, and practicing, but they still look like piles of dog poop).

I was hoping to find some that I didn't have to wait for or so I can actually go to the shop and pick them myself. I don't really mind traveling since everything is at lease 2-4 hours from me anyway. I travel to MA often, any thing in NH or MA would be great.

There is a place in Hooksett NH called Eatons candy and cake supplies. They have all kinds of flowers already made up. I bought some sugar ones this past weekend. The are located right off of RTE 101. You could try there.

Thanks Melissa. I was thinking of them too, but haven't stopped in there yet. I think my next trip south, I will make it a point to stop in.

the place is a cake makers paradise. I swear I could drop a thoussand dollars easily there. I have never taken the Wilton courses, and they do them there. BUT I start Le Cordon Bleu on April 5th. So, I might not need that.

Fellow NE cake decorators, the Massachusetts Chapter of ICES is having a blow out end of the year DOS (Day of Sharing) this coming weekend with a master mold making class by Dominic Palazollo and Fondant Tips and Tricks class by Julie Bashore. We are also having a raffle to win a brand new Cricut Cake machine and extra cartridge. Plus Somerset Sheeters will be there, and also smaples of the new buttercream flavored Satin Ice Fondant. More details can be found at www.massice.org. Sorry for the late notice, but I just found you all! Hope you can make it.

I wish I were able to make it. I am booked solid, but I will be with you guys in spirit. As I daydream between cakes, I will be wishing I were there. Take some pics to share with us here. Thanks for the update. :)
