Hi. Ruby from Bowie. Been baking for years but REALLY decorating for only a year now (3 Wilton classes + specialty classes and memberships).  I really enjoy custom carved cakes.  But whatever the client wants is what I'll do! My prayer is that this cake passion will get me out of the office and into the kitchen full-time!

Is there anyone here in the baltimore area that can take on a cake/cupcake order for this upcoming sunday? I had a death in the family and I'm not able go get back to work just yet.

Hi Sandee from District Heigths, MD (near Forestville) *waving*  Just wanted to see if there are cay decorators in the surrounding area I could network with.  I started doing cake out of necessity when my son was little, stop for a while, but continued bake.  I decided to start again, just as a hobby and stress reliever, about 6yrs ago, and haven't looked back since *smiles*  I absolutely LOVE doing children's and baby shower cakes!!

Hi All!!  I am in Fort Washington.  I hope to meet a few of you and be able to receive and give tips and suggestions.  I've been baking under KC Sweets now for about 2 years, self taught no classes, just YouTube videos, a lot of Cake Boss and other cake/baking shows. (LOL)  I do all occasion cakes birthdays, showers, weddings, just becuase, etc. 

 

Would love to get lessons using fondant 90% of my cakes are buttercream icing.  Again hope to connect with some of you here locally.

Welcome Karen. I'm in the District Heights area. I'm an ex Wilton Instructor, left just after the new transition took over. Any questions, let me know. I'm also a certified pastry chef. You can look at my pics here to see the extent of my craft. There is always something new to learn in the cake decorating world. I've taken classes with Colette Peters, Chef Lodge and others. For any bakers near Howard County. A non profit group called Icing Smiles is holding a fundraiser on December 1st and is  looking for donations for the bake sale.  Here are the details:

 

Icing Smiles is holding a fundraiser bake sale at TLV Tree Farm in Triadelphia on December 1st from 9am-5pm.  If you are able to either donate baked goods or sell goods at our table we'd love some help!  Tracy Quisenberry (our founder and fearless leader) and myself will be there along with lots of other Icing Smiles supporters, and hopefully a family or two that we've been able to create a Smile for.  I hope to see you there!
