I just read that the ICES Convention will be in Reno NV in 2012..do you have to be a member to register and attend this event or is it open to the general public?

For attending it, is less expensive if you are a member of ICES. You pay more if you are not.

I just wanted to invite everyone here to share with others on the site how ICES has helped you in your business. I think there are many people here who could benefit from membership and just don't know what they're missing. Please share in the general discussion area of the forum so people who are not ICES members can read about it. Thanks!

As a comment to the ICES Conventions in general. Yearly membership is $60 and you get 11 color newsletters per year. You also save $190 off the early registration price for conventions over non-member prices. So really this is s no-brainer here. Why would you spend the extra $130 to NOT be a member if you were going to attend the convention?

I love being a member of ICES. I joined this spring. You meet wonderful people and can learn even more techniques at demos given during local chapter meetings.

I have been a member of ICES for many years.  It has benefitted me with knowledge I would not have ever found on my own.  Being a member of the 2008 ICES Convention Committee was a fantastic experience.  I met so many great people and learned so much about being a part of the process of putting a spectacular event toether.  I am looking forward to 2012 Florida Mini classes, so that I can volunteer again.  My business has benefitted by the skils I increased when taking the classes offered.

For all of you that are interested in the ICES Convention in Charlotte this year, please go to www.ICES11.org or even join the ICES 11 facebook page. Two new demos were added last week for Friday evening and the Volunteers page for sign ups is now open off the www.ices11.org site.

Sorry, I do not get on here much. In regards to a chapter of ICES in Florida: yes they have a very active chapter and in fact have I believe two divisions, one for Spanish speaking events. The contact Rep is Merrie Lee Reese reeseg@bellsouth.net
  Hope this helps.
