Hi everyone, I've just joined 'Geek Cakes' as I've already made one and have another on it's way for the end of December. I love the idea of this group, great to bounce ideas around. I made a World of Warcraft cake and was told that as it was only a small party an 8" cake would be big enough. I was then asked to add the WOW world onto it....this included 5 mountains, a dark portal vortex, 3 waterfalls, a fort, a camp and a dragon. Oh......and a sugar replica of the 15 year old lads avatar lol. I did it and was sooooo pleased with how it turned out. I've put 2 photo's below..(these are also in my gallery amongst lots of other views of it). My next Geek Cake is an Assassins Creed (PS3 game) cake - looking forward to that one. Thanks for setting up this group. Love Tracy xx

Metria: Lucky you...I wasn't allowed to eat much fruit during my pregnancy, let alone cookies!

Tracy: Welcome and wow, that's a pretty damned spiffy 8" cake!  The face and details on your figure are particularly awesome!

Tracy!!!  I can't wait to see your Assassin's Creed cake!  I'm making one soon too.  I bought a model replica of the main character for research.  If I could afford it, I'd blow a lot of money on their art books.  Love your WOW cake!

Hi Kimberley,

Thank you for your welcome and your kind compliments on my WOW cake. Think I'm going to enjoy being part of your group :)

Metria,

I too bought a model of Ezio - 9" tall. I've printed out lots of pictures from the internet too - I love all the artwork, amazing images. I'll be looking out for your cake too. Txx

Thanks Violet, I love making figures and this one was particularly rewarding. The 15 year old was utterly speechless to see his avatar in 3D :) xx

I'm back again- I think almost all my cakes are geeky:) Jambi's box is banana cake frosted with chocolate ganache and covered in fondant which I airbrushed. The side panels are gumpaste which I attached with royal icing (still amazed they didn't fall off on the car ride). Jambi is hand-painted on fondant. Chairy is RKT and modeling choclate, and the other figures are modeling chocolate

Your handpainting of Jambi is amazing - I thought it was a printed image. Great cake Julie.
