Another wedding cake to make!
I'm very glad I've been getting in so much practice recently because I'm going to be making the important one next year - my own!
Last week was the six year anniversary of when me & my fiancé (yay!!) Roy first got together and to celebrate he took me out for a meal and at the end of it he proposed! It was sooo romantic!
Even though I've only had a week to think about it, I've already got ideas for a lot of things. The cake is all picked out! I feel like I should do something really elaborate but we both prefer something simple and elegant so that's what I think we'll go for. I'm planning on doing this one:

As well as the cake, I'm also going to do the invitations and stationary and want to look at making cookie favours for the guests. Sticking with the rose theme, does anyone have ideas for these?

Oh, Best Wishes Lilly! That's wonderful news. Beautiful cake (you know you're a true caker when you choose the cake design before the dress or anything else!) Are you going to make sugar flowers or go with real?
Although these are the wrong color, aren't they pretty rose cookies? I'll bet they would look great as cookie bouquets set in silver julep style cups. (In your colors, of course!)

For making your invitations I can reccomend www.thehandcraftedcardcompany.co.uk they have a good selection of card stock and embellishments.

Ann, I'd like to have fresh roses, not sure I could make sugar ones that will fill the gap as well. Those cookies are gorgeous, will have to keep an eye out for rose shaped cookie cutters and think about ways I could 'wedding' them up a bit! I'm not sure if we'll use those exact colours yet, it'll depend on what dresses we get. I think I'd probably have a revolt if I tried to put the bridesmaids in yellow! At the moment I'm thinking some shade of pink, maybe a deep dusky rose colour...
