I have seen that - it's found in older Wilton books and possibly more in books from the UK or maybe Australia - someone from there jump in to correct me if I'm wrong on this. It's one of those retro things that might be ripe for a revival with a new twist . . .

Might be kind of fun to try different colors of tulle than the traditional white - like hot pink, black, lime green, brown with pink, etc. and hot fashion colors of icing to go with them - this could be very contemporary and very cool...

Nothing wrong with the traditional either - a delicate feminine look . . . might impress brides looking for something unique.

Did you guys watch the last episode of "The next great baker"?  They had lots of piping, in strings, lattice work etc.  It was beautiful and they did it so fast.

Hi, sorry for my long absence - or at least it seems long to me, LOL. I'm kind of frustrated, hoped I would have more time and opportunity to make cakes and practice these techniques but still haven't.

This weekend I had given some thought to making a combined Valentine's/bunny rabbit theme cake for my bunny rescue group's meeting. Then I thought cupcakes would be less messy. I may still do that - but some are diabetic so I'm now thinking I may make healthy muffins for this event. I do hope I get to make some kind of a Valentine cake . . . sigh . . .
