Oh, look, a squirrel! LOL - I'm jumping subjects for a moment - has anyone heard of the retro Wilton Multi-Coupler? It was shown in early-70s Wilton magazines and you could put two or three tips in and once and make all kinds of interesting triple borders! (And have sugar overload when eating the cake, I'm sure, LOL.) But it looked like a "fun toy." Unfortunately they were discontinued and are very rare and hard to find, and expensive on Ebay when someone does put one up for sale.

The first two links are pictures showing what the Multi-Coupler looked like, and the 3rd is a link to an improvised one someone made. I want to try this!

The first two links are pictures of the Multi-Coupler itself and the third link is to how to make an improvised one. Let us know what you think!

Hey Lacey, if you have time, post some closeups of the gizmos in that kit. Does it have a multi-tip coupler?

Okay so I tried to photocopy the page & scan but picture was of very poor quality but I am going to give u the instructions so that u can kind of imagine it LOL.
Pipe a row of shells with a large star nozzle around the top of the cake and the bottom of the cake. With a smaller star nozzle pipe continuous C's on the shells on the top of the cake. With a medium sized plain nozzle (tip # 5 I guess) pipe a scallop on the top of the cake around the shell and round the bottom of the cake, on the board. Repeat the scallop on the side of the cake under the shells on the top of the cake. Color a little of the icing yellow and using a writing nozzle repeat the pattern of continous C's on the top edge of the cake. Pipe a dropped loop on top of the cake shell at the base of the cake. With the same color and a leaf nozzle pipe inverted leaves between the shells at the base of the cake, with the point of the leaves creeping up on the sides of the cake.

The basic color combination is white and yellow. The picture is not as clear as the instructions. Have fun and don't forget the pics.

Ooh, Lacey, I'm excited. Your hubby sounds like a cool guy to do that for you. We'll be waiting to see what he comes up with. :)

Hey, shall we make a project out of this in the new year, after all the excitement of the holidays have settled down?

Hi - I think I'm too much of a newbie to try that detailed - well, at least not on a real cake. Guess practicing wouldn't kill me, LOL! :D

I'm guessing the multi-coupler project may be on hold till after your move! ;) Good luck! I will probably have to move next year, due to foreclosure - yuk, not looking forward to that. A story for another time, especially since I don't know how it will all play out.
