That is a cool idea. I think I just may do these for Christmas. I also want to do something that is edible.... Even if Elmer's Glue is non-toxic I don't think I would eat it...DEAH!!!! That was fun!

Oooh... I'm sooo making some ornaments with my kids! I love to do xmas crafts with them, and they love to see them year after year!

I do not need any more ornaments... after 33 years of marriage... I have enough of those. But I do have a great sugar cookie recipe that is super easy and very tasty... and yo do not have to cool it before cutting out the cookies. I just got a new gingerbread cutter too... can't wait to use it. It impresses either a log cabin or a brick house on the dough depending on which side of the cutter you use. My kids are having a gingerbread house making contest when they are all home for Thanksgiving so I will be making 8 for that and then a few more for gifts that I do. I bake and assemble the houses for our grown kids and they decorate them. They are so funny it takes them back to their childhood!!! Here is the new cutter I got...

Hi there,
I'm going to touch on the subject of Cinnamon Ornaments a bit. I love this idea and I've done it now since 2002. For the sake of room and examples for those who are interested, please visit this posting on my blog:
http://stampinsher.blogspot.com/2010/10/holiday-gifts-and-fun-ideas...

My recipe is a tiny bit different than Karen's contribution and both of them work well. I will say, the smell is still beautiful and fragrant from the ones I made back in 2002. Can we say Gifts for others? How about sending your small loafs of cakes, cakeballs, cookies & breads along with the fun and easy ornaments. All made by YOU! Now that is what I call a gift of love.

I guess ladies our friends and family are going to be happy with us!!! Well next week I will set up Project #4, we still have a few days left in October, this was a long month. We can all get started on Holiday Extravaganza.... How does that sound??? Sharing our favorite ideas for the holiday for gifts and treats. I know with all the box cake mix I have and will be on sale for me to restock this year, my friends, family and daughter's teachers are getting homebake/made gifts this year... Now I just have to find the time to do it all!!! .

That sounds good so we get to choose what we are making for food gifts then?

Sounds great to me! As you can see from the photos on my page, I already have Christmas on the brain! Last year I did cookies for my co-workers, miniature red velvet cakes/almond pound cakes/banana bread for friends and huge pineapple upside down cakes for family. I have 5 uncles, and they each polish off one of my 10 inch pineapple upside down cakes in one sitting! So I have to give each family two - one for the uncles, and for the rest of the fam! LOL. I know pineapple upside downs don't sound Christmasy, but when you live on an island, it is a special occasion staple!

I will be working on our son in laws 30th birthday cake deco this weekend and the party is next weekend... somewhere in there I need to start the gingerbread houses. I have to have everything ready before Thanksgiving... all our children are coming home for Thanksgiving so we will be having the Great Gingerbread Contest that weekend. I will be having my knee surgery the first part of December so I have to have all my projects done before then!
