Hi
I am from Alberta Canada and I saw a post about cake supplies. Yes it is a drag most of the cool stuff is in the States but there are a couple places in Canada I get things from. One place is a cake distributer from Edmonton Alberta called "cake mischief" they have quite a few of the things from the States. I get my Satin Ice fondant from them, also I recently found the "vanilla food company" in Ontario I believe, I get my americolors for my airbrush from them.
They do not have as much as cake mischief but I think they are fairly new. Anyhoo thought I would put mt two cents in.
Winnipeg, MB here!
You would think that being smack dab in the middle of the country, AND with Winnipeg being such a huge shipping hub, that there would be more available other than Michaels and the Bulk Barn. True enough that Walmart carries a few items, and some of the local bakers do put hard to get items out for us "amateurs" to purchase, but the variety still is lacking. I order a large amount of my items from either Golda's Kitchen (ON), or Flour Confections (ON). I have ordered once from a place in BC, but it was such a pain that I have never gone back. I have also ordered from Icing Inspirations (also ON), but their selection is also slim. I have heard of the place in Edmonton, and apparently there is another (new) place somewhere in AB, too. My plan is to check out Cake Mischief next time I am looking for new items and compare them to my two tried and trues.
