Not necessarily, but if you do keep it in the refrigerator it will be just fine, no need to be at room temperature because the oil and the shortening as well keep their consistency spreadable.
If you don’t need as much, you can make a small amount: just use equal amount of oil, shortening and flour (¼ cup or tablespoon)
