Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Does anyone have a tower or tree that they've made from scratch? I've been asked by a friend that my husband works with to maybe do a wedding cake on top of a tower/tree....I can't find out in my area. So I was wondering if anyone has ever made one and if so could you share with me on the design and what you used to make it with...I sure would appreciate it!

Lauri, here is one that I found the other day. Looks real easy, not sure if it's what you are looking for...

You can do so many cool things. I've seen vases used between the cake boards, filled with anything from flower petals, sea shells, glass marbles, etc.
Thank you Theresa! That's a idea I hadn't thought of either....I guess since I"m just starting out there's a lot for me to learn....Kathy Kmonk has been a great friend! I'm glad she's on here....

Hi Lauri,

I purchased one for a shower that I did last weekend that held 100 cupcakes...but in my travels of deciding rather to buy or make, I can across http://www.ellezdesigns.com they had instructions on how they made thier's if I recall..it held a couple hundred cupcakes. If you decde to buy...I received mine from greenpartgoods.com. They were great to work with :)

The greenpartgoods.com didn't come up for me....our isp provider had an error page for that link...I liked that other one you sent!! I'm sharing these ideas with hubby so that we can get the ideas to come up with to variate our orders... :)

I have a couple of stands that I bought from Costco that I use mostly they are tiered stands and got them a few years ago... I also have a really cool stand from Cake Stackers www.cakestackers.com that can be used for cupcakes. It is not disposable and is expensive but a really sturdy nice stand.
