I'm with June. Just mix either Jello or Kool-Aid powder with any liquid in your recipe if you want it to dissolve, doesn't even have to be heated. Might take a minute or 2 to dissolve comletely, but no sweat.
June, you never had any 'turning blue' problems with your Jello in buttercream, did you?

Betty, when I use jello powder in my bc icing, I just dump it in with my meringue powder. I've never had "gritty" icing. But, if you want, you could always heat up the liquid your using, add the powder, mix & dissolve, then add to your bc.
I cant wait to try this ,, gotta get some ASAP !,, THANK YOU ; ))
Thanks June, Just wondering, what about the flavors of the Jello's most of them would be OK... BUT. Most of my frosting is vanilla , wont the jello flavor and Kool_Aid give a different taste??? And to use "Grape" to get purple, wont it taste like grape instead of vanilla???.:(

Hey Girls!! Just got a terrific cure for the 'Blues'! lol
Pat did a really deep purple, simply gorgeous, rose that I fell in love with. When questioned, she was kind enough to give the 'secret'! lol This may just be 'the answer' we were looking for!
Pat Roberts: said "I got the deep colour for the rose by starting with lavender or purple gum paste, then adding Sugarflair Violet and Claret, just keep adding till you get the colour you want."

Yes I saw this...I also do the same....Violet gumpaste add Rose and some Christmas red. I add a tsp or do of baking soda to the fondant to keep a true purple colour from fading...as in the blog post on 1st page...
Hi ladies can I do the same thing add a little baking soda to buttercream to it from fading? and wil just the taste? Thanks
