Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hello at everyone, I am thinking about a cake with japanese theme. I like the idea of origami, using gum paste or modelling paste for origami decorations on a cake covered in sugar paste, the cake is a two tired cake, I think it would be an unusual decoration but I don't know how realise it, with simple origami i can do with gum paste. Have you something that can help me, ideas, tutorial or photo? Thank you at all, tonight I can not sleep If I don't find an idea:

What about making thin chocolate sheets and using chocolate transfers to make it LOOK like origami paper?  Fuse the pieces of chocolate together to make it look like it's a paper crane or whatever it is you're wanting to create?  Sounds like a very interesting idea.. I'd love to see pics when you get there!

Thank you Holly wonderful idea the black of cioccolate and the white of sugar paste, but we can't use cioccolate sheets, it's a project for a competition on 15 October. So I am thinking about a classic cake, two tires, decorated with  a branch of cherry blossom, may be also butterflies. But I will use your idea for an other cake, using modelling chocolate.

Thank you and happy baking

I bet you could reproduce this in modelling paste -

Could you use the sheets that you use with cutters? They are alot like paper.
