Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

There's been a few discussions lately on whether to invest in a Cricut Cake Machine or not, personally I love mine. You can check out my photos to see of the neat stuff I've done.

Anyway...I found one online today for only $147.99!!!

So here's the link:DISCOUNT CRICUT CAKE MACHINE

I've bought from this company several times and have not had any problems at all. Hope someone can get this good deal! :)

Wow, that is a good price!  I love the clean look, but have been hesitant to get one because of the cost and additional cost of cartridges and gumpaste sheets.  Can you use homemade fondant and gumpaste in the machine?

...Ok now you have my wheels turning:)   I have a couple of friends that have cricuts they use for scrapbooking, they each have different cartridges and trade them back and forth.  So my question is - do all of the cartridges work on all types of cricut machines, even the cake one? Or are their specific cartridges that you can only use with the cake machine?

The Cricut Cake (CC) is basically the same at the regular Cricut with exception that its 'foodsafe' and the blades and mats are different. Yes, the cartridges work on ANY cricut machine, paper cake, etc. And you can totally use fondant or gumpaste (I buy satin ice fondant, too scared to try homemade), but I've never even used the sheets. In fact this same website, I've gotten most of my carts for less than $20. I've gotten some from from folks off Craigslist or ebay, so really no need to pay full price for cart either. ;) I HATE paying full price for stuff. lol
