  • Cooking Time: 12 - 15
  • 3/4 cup butter, margarine, or Crisco
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups old fashioned Quaker Oats
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Beat together all liquid ingredients, butter and sugar (the longer the better)

Drop cookies by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet or baking stone.

Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes until light golden brown.

Store in a tightly sealed container to keep soft.
