What cake decorating books would you recommend to have a look at for the beginner cake decorator???

The Wilton yearbooks are a good start for a biginner.

There are so many new books out these days I haven't kept up.

What are your likes as to decorating?  Fondant?  Buttercream?  Do you want to figure pipe?  Learn to make gumpaste flowers?   That will make a bit of a difference.  You don't want to start with something like Kerry Vincent's Romantic cakes - it would probably frustrate you beyone wanting to ever decorate again :) 

Professional Cake Decorating by Toba Garrett is one of my favorites.  It covers all the basics and it's written like a text book with end of lesson reviews after each chapter.  It has helped me immensely.

Yes, I have one of her books- The well decorated cake....... Thanx Kathy I will see wether I can find her other book.
