Looks like these broaches were made from molds. The white pearl, I have one very similar I made by molding a piece of costume jewelry.  Think this is the only way you will achieve what you want Maria, by using a mold with either fondant or gumpaste. Looks like they used gold lustre dust. Best to use alcohol.  Dust stays & alcohol evaporates. You can buy molds on etsy.com.

Thanks June! I made a simple brooch using a button for I don't have any mold for brooches. I didn't achieve the real gold color with the gumpaste and gold luster dust. Maybe bec. I just mixed the dust with water. What type of alcohol do I need to use? I know Sandra is very good in making these.

I found the video in youtube! I need a silver and gold highlighter dust to make it look like real silver and gold brooches and mix it with clear vanilla and silver or gold luster dust. I think etsy.com is abroad so I just need to look for a shop here that sells silicone brooches mold. I can make it if I have it.

Hi Maria.  I agree with June, these are made from moulds.  If you use fondant, I would add a little tylose to keep them firmer so they come out of the moulds more easily.  You can use gumpaste, but of course, that won't taste so nice.  For your gold painting, I would suggest a gold lustre dust dissolved in a tiny amount of vodka or gin.  A clear alcohol seems to work best.  You get a nice deep, thick consistency that gives a very realistic colour.  I buy Sugarflair dusts and they come in different types of gold, depending on the effect you want to achieve - antique, sparkle, radiant are the 3 colours I remember.  I have just discovered the gold sparkle and it's really bright and pretty.  Sugarflair also do nice silver dusts.  There are a lot of manufacturers of moulds - some that come to mind are Karen Davies, Windsor, Classikool, First Impression.  Then, of course, there's always Ebay and Amazon.  Be warned, they are not cheap!  So maybe think about buying some silicone to make your own moulds using either jewellery that you have or cheap costume jewellery that you can buy.  Again, I don't know if this will be available where you are, but this is the stuff I am talking about (I think this is what June uses, or similary) -  http://www.makeyourownmolds.com/

This isn't the mould material I use Katy.  Tooooooo expensive. Works great as I got a sample from our cake club a few mnths back.  I use easy mold silicone putty. Get it at my local craft shop.    :o)

with gold luster dust its better to use lemon extract, I learned that on craftsy, yes June is rite its molds ,

I've successfully painted gumpaste and fondant pieces with the Wilton gold dust mixed with lemon extract (83 alcohol) or vodka, and also a mix of vodka and water (50:50).  If you paint them with a gold color gel mixed with a little of the vodka, then brush on the gold dust, it colors better.

She uses disco highlighter dust and airbrush dust to acquire the real gold and silver look. It looks real. The problem, I couldn't find it here. Ladies I will try to use lemon extract or gin and see if it will work. Thank you for all your help.

on craftsys  they said with any gold or lusters its best to use lemon extract, I used it it duz paint on much better !
