Hi my name is Susan Hernandez.  I joined CWB back in July sometime because I was making my first fondant cake and needed lots of help (which of course I found it here).  I only bake for family and friends, don't have the time to bake for sale.  I work as a legal secretary and take care of my parents, a husband and a crazy dog!  But this site is totally awesome.  Everyone here is always willing to lend a helping hand.  I hope someday I might be able to help someone out with something I know.  Thanks for starting this site.

My hubby purchased a new router for our computer, to help with the signal strength througout the house. So if we are on the laptop/IPod/IPhone downstairs we get a good strong signal. But it cuts in & out.....so annoying!!!! I am now on the main hard wired computer upstairs, and usually no problem, but last few days, the router has been sketchy here too.  Hubby is going to take out the "new" router and put the old one back.

If this isn't bad enough....the hard drive on our laptop went "goofy". I lost ALL of my favorites. I had a ton of cake sites & info stored. They are not actually "lost", they are in their somewhere, hubby has to take it into some tech to figure it out. GRrrrrrr.

We had that same problem happen to us too a few years back. Unfortunately, I'm not computer savvy enough to tell you how it became resolved. My husband and grandson messed with it until it got fixed.

Well Steve has gone back to his 12 week full day/part time job for Christmas.  So between still doing the reno stuff on the house @ night & wknds, he is kinda busy to be fixin the %%#X!! computer.  Oh well, it is really only a minor annoyance. The upstairs computer is working good enough to go online, & print out stuff I need.

I woke up with another "B" of a migraine today....rain coming in this aft, and YIKES....... maybe snow flurries here tomorrow. Yuk....I HATE winter :(  Only snow for Christmas is all I want!  Don't think God sees it that way. Funny that he seems to know better than Moi!

I hate winter too! I don't want any snow, period! Sorry to hear about the migraine again. Boy! You have really been hit with those right now. yuck.

Hello, Everyone. My name is Dee and I'm new to cakeswebake and very, very exited and anxious to get to where most of you are. I look at my cakes, then all of you alls cakes and can't even imagine how I myself would ever be able to do cakes like the ones I've seen here, but I'm gonna have a wonderful time trying. lol....I wish all cakewebake members much success.

Hi Dee, welcome to this site. There are a lot of very wonderful people on here and they all seem to be very helpful and friendly. It's a great place to learn new techniques too!

Now that I've finally set myself up and inundated you all with my pics of every cake and topper I've done, I guess I should do the introduction thing too. LOL.

I'm Jen. I'm from Middlebury, CT. I worked in marketing for 13+ years as an Art Director and graphic designer. As a 3-time layoff victim to the economy, I figured it was career change time. I have been working on launching my business, Jenny-Lu's Baked Goods, for about 2 years. I started out thinking I'd just do cookies and candies, but I helped out with some fondant sculpting at a local bakery for a couple days and thought, "hey, I can SO do that!" So I put my Art degree and sculpture experience to work and made my first sculpted cake in February of 2010... R2D2. I had only what I saw at the bakery and what I learned from all the cake shows to go by and had NO clue what I was doing. It was a huge success.

Now I work as needed for my local supply store and bake and sculpt from home. I have come to a point where I need to up my income however, so I am going to be putting myself out to the local shops as a freelance Cake Artist. Hoping it pans out so I can continue in this career and find success as a Cake Artist.

I love that I found this site and am finally getting more active with it. It is so amazingly helpful to have the support and experience of others when needed. Thanks for being here!

Oh... I can also be a bit verbose.  ;)
