Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I have two round cake tins in the oven - chocolate cake. I greased the tins, but forgot to flour them after (actually I would subsitute the cocoa for flouring)

Please, anyone, could you assist. When the cakes are cooled how can I remove them?

I know your cakes should be done by now...did you have any luck getting them out? I've greased and floured cake tins before and had HELL to take them out...damaged cakes I tell...so I always use grease paper in addition to the greasing and flouring. But since sometime last year...I only use the grease paper...works like a CHARM...no greasing...no flouring...cakes come out great!

I have used a homemade cake release for years and it it great, it has never left cake in the pan. The best part is you make it and it keeps for a long time, and you just take it and brush it on the pan when needed. This way you will never forget the flour, for it is all in this mixture.

Recipe

I cup Crisco

1 cup oil (Canola or Corn)

1 cup flour

Mix all with a beater, then store in mason jars in ridge.

To use, use pastry brush to paint the cake pan.

 

I love this pan coating.

I also am homade cake release depedent!

As I feel the urge to bake at the drop of a hat, I store mine in a cool kitchen cabinet so it is always room temp and ready.

Also be sure to give it a good stir before you use it.

 

OBTW...how did the cakes come out?

I know I am too late but wondering how the cakes came out... I use the Wilton Cake release (too lazy to make my own!)  and love it.  Never use flour ever. 
They should be okay and come out fine.  If cooled down too much, just reheat slightly to remove.
