I recently bought a jar of Magic Line Edible Glitter..1/4 oz for $3.70, total ingredients 1: Gum Arabic...it got me to thinking..hmmm how IS this stuff made. So I did a little googling and found this:

I wonder if you could add food color to the water and make colored glitter...as soon as I find gum arabic..I am going to try it.

Wow, this sound like a lot of fun. I will try this coming week as well to find the ingredient, gum arabic as well at my local store!
I will use parchment paper too since I do not have anything other than that which will be able to be cooked in my oven at 170 degrees.
Thanks Sherry, a terrific find! If I can do it this coming week, I will post again. It all depends on my store findings and my schedule.
This sounds really cool. I think global sugar art carries gum arabic.
Thanks Sherry for this recipe...sounds really easy!
You can buy gum arabic in art supply stores, it's used in print making. A friend of mine was an art student and I remember her telling me that we should make our own glitter and she would show me how.
Shoot and i had gum arabic , but i didnt know what it was used for so it stayed on my couboard for a long time then i threw it out , SOrry if i had of known at the time what it was for i would have given it to ya
Thanks for posting this, Sherry. The recipe does say you can color it by adding color to the water.
