I think I saw this on Cake Boss and thought it was amazing. I would love to know the "how to" also. Waiting patiently for someone to help. TIA
I found this info on Sugarcraft's site...it gives instructions on how to make jewels but the technique is the same without adding food coloring..it is just a cooked isomalt sugar syrup poured into hard candy molds that will withstand the high temps. Sounds pretty easy just be careful....

Also here is a link to their hard candy molds...some of the gem molds may be suitable for ice cubes

If you go on their site www.sugarcraft.com and go to the left sidebar under candymaking and then ingredients you will find Isomalt crystals for sale...just scroll down until you see it....

Hope this helps!
yea, i saw the same on cake boss, where he made the reef for the ocean tank. that was awesome.
it really does look simple, just make the isomalt add your colors & mold accordingly ?
i bet you could find an ice cube mold someplace .... or check to see if they have silicone ice cube trays ?
good luck ! please let us know how it turned out for you, ive been wanting to try out isomalt ever since i saw that cake boss episode =-)
i hope your cake turns out great !

Great Job... did you make your bottles too? I have some isomelt and the bottle mold... just have not taken the plunge to make them yet. Decorate the Cake has a recipe for making them I am pretty sure.

Sorry, I tried to edit this to include the molds I use for Isomalt ice cubes, but wasn't fast enough. This company is from Canada but I think I got mine from eithe BakeDeco or Chef Rubber in the U.S. They can take temps up to 500 degrees F. so are fine for molding Isomalt. I bought two of the molds so I could work a bit faster. I poured the cooked Isomalt syrup into a glass Pyrex measuring cup with a pouring lip, makes it much faster and cleaner when pouring into the molds.
