Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I had someone ask me how much a cake like this would be to have done(but as bud light). I could probably figure out a price fairly easy, but how the cake is done is another thing. I can tell its round cakes stacked, either 6 or 8 inch, looks to be done in fondant, but what about all the writing? royal icing maybe? & any ideas roughly on how many layers, I was thinken 6?

It looks like it has been piped by hand so it must be either royal or buttercream.
I think you are right on the 6" rounds... how tall would depend on how big you want the cake to be.... looks like 4 or 5 2" cakes to me. The lettering...the sheen of the red makes me think piping gel. You can add piping gel to royal icing and get the consistancy where it is really nice for lettering. The smaller letters... a food writing pen would work fantastic. Cute idea!
Could the "Coors Light" be a frozen BC transfer?
exactly what I was thinking Deah...and the lettering also.

awesome cake...it would be great to know how you do it Jennifer....post pics!

Also i agree with Deah it could be a transfer...
I'm not a great piper so I would use fondant for the can and the lettering cut it out with an exacto knife. Then steam the whole can for the shine. The size would depend on how many servings your client needs. Pam
Thank you ladies for all the replys, So far I havent heard back from the person who wanted to know a $$ for this cake. So looks like I might get to make it unless I want to try it for fun lol
Nice cake!! I bet the lettering was a PIA to do sideways.
That looks like all buttercream to me. It has paper towel marks, so that means that is crusting buttercream.
The little line at the top looks like a fondant stripe
