Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hat Cake Contest:

Enter your Hat Cake by Sunday, February 12th for a chance to win your choice of dvd from SugarEd Productions listed here. 1st and 2nd place winners will each select 1 dvd.

Sharon Zambito is a world renowned and much sought after cake decorator and instructor. Her interest in cake decorating started nearly 25 years ago when she took an introductory class at a local cake shop. Her hobby has since evolved into her passion.

With the aid of the Internet, books, and magazines, she has mastered many styles and techniques in use today. She frequently travels to attend as well as teach cake decorating workshops. Her cake decorating DVDs are shipped all over the globe.

Sharon's cakes have been published in national magazines and web sites, such as American Cake Decorating, Mailbox News, and Grace Ormonde Wedding Style. She is a member of ICES (International Cake Exploration Societe). And she has appeared on two episodes of TLC's Ultimate Cake Off as well.

How To Enter:

Add the photo to your profile (not the forum and not your blog). Photos must include a description of the materials/techniques used to make your cake. Cakes that do not include a hat will not be entered into the contest.  Only cake entries will be accepted - no cupcakes, cake pops or cake balls.

The photo title (required) will be a suitable title for picture, but it may not remain a string of numbers associated with a file name on your computer. To enter the contest, add the TAG  122 to your picture. 1 entry per person and 1 photo per entry. All entries will be featured at the top of the photos page. (This is a manual process, so please be patient).

The top ten cakes will be determined by the number of people selecting it as their favorite with the favorite button.  Voting will take place from Monday, February 13th to Friday, February 17th. The top ten cakes
will be displayed on Saturday, February 18th. The judges will vote from February 19 -21. The winners will be posted on Wednesday, February 22nd.

Please do not solicit votes or your entry will be disqualified. If your cake photo has been on the site for a while and has already received favorites, please upload it again for the contest. This is to create a level playing field for everyone participating. Thanks!

Congratulations, Linda Wolff -1st place and Angel Rushing - 2nd place:

I assume you meant February 12th, not January12th!  LOL!

Oh no, did I do that?

Yeah, I saw that too.  :)  I think you meant Feb 12th.  LOL!!!

I didn't think to check that with you as well...is the tag 122?

After you upload your picture in the section where you fill out the information about your picture, there is a box that says "tags"  you would put the number 122 there.  If the picture is already in your album, go your page, click on the picture.  You will notice that there is an options tab.  There is an option to edit tags.  Just add the number there.  I hope this makes sense.

I'm not sure how to tag my photo for this competition..any help would be appreciated.

Remember everyone, you must follow the rules when uploading your picture. Your picture must be one picked from your computer-not one that may already have a bunch of FAVORITES already checked on the picture from a previous date to the contest. Now that would not be fair to the rest, would it? If the rules are not met, your picture could be disqualified.http://www.cakeswebake.com/forum/topics/winter-tiered-cake-contest-...

Everyone, please don't become offended and quit when we ask you to follow the rules. Please imagine being the moderator that is sorting through all of the pictures that are being submitted, and there are a big majority that have not completely read through them, so there are a lot that need to be gone back over and then contact the individuals that have not done it right. It takes a lot of work on the moderators part, sifting and sorting through all of the pictures, then having to contact each person who has not correctly read the rules. It does not mean that your picture won't get submitted. It just means that there are a few changes that need to be done before it is submitted. Please, everyone....help us out by reading the rules completely. It will get your picture added more quickly because it takes the burden off of the moderator that is sorting through all of the pictures being submitted.

So we can make any kind of cake  with a hat on it or does it have to be just a hat all by itself.

Sherry, your submission must contain a hat of some sort. It can have a hat on it or be a hat cake. For more detail on submitting your entry please see this discussion. http://www.cakeswebake.com/forum/topics/winter-tiered-cake-contest-...
