frosting an upside down cake
I have a friend that wants a pineapple upside down cake for her birtday, but she also wants it frosted because it is a luau theme. Does anyone have any experience or ideas for this.

I can't imagine piling frosting right on top of pineapple and cherries, which is in a very sweet brown sugar mixture. Maybe you can make a cake with pineapple filling as an alternative.
