I'm assuming you are talking about the dragees (sp) - little pearl balls? I use the silver often and I use a tiny paint brush with very little water just to make the fondant sticky in the spot I want to attach the decoration.
Hope this helps :)
I used the large pearlized sprinkles on my fondant First Communion Cake as beads in the rosary. They stuck just fine with a touch of water. You do need to hold them there a few seconds until they adhere though. They even made it through the delivery! None fell off.
I've used a little dot of royal icing.
I use gum glue to adhere my pearls to fondant. If you put them on while your fondant is fresh they stick better and are easier to put on. I use a pair of plastic tweezers to put them on with. I use both the little pearls and the silver and gold dragees and it works with all of them. I have a cake in my album that was covered in the little pearls... it was a PITA but I brushed the fondant with gum glue and put the pearls into a disposable decorating bag and cut a small hole in it so they could flow out and pressed them on as I went.. It took forever but they all stuck on!
Here is a link to the cake I was talking about... the only thing I would have done differently is coat the pearls in either pearl dust or white sparkle dust.
