Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Enter your cake decorated with piped figures by Friday, February 18th for a chance to win. Add the photo to your profile and label the title Figure Piping Contest. All entries will be featured at the top of the photos page. You may enter as many cakes as you like, but please enter only 1 photo per cake entry.

Sponsored by CakeSuppliesPlus.com. Cake Supplies Plus offers a wide selection of cake decorating supplies, books and videos.

FYI, figure piping is figures such as animals or people that are piped on to a cake using an icing bag.

1st place: Cupcake Figure Piping Video by Roland Winbeckler.

2nd place: 3D Cake Cartooning Book by Roland Winbeckler

The top ten cakes will be determined by the number of people selecting them as their favorites. Voting will take place from Saturday, February 19th to Wednesday, February 23rd.

To vote, select the cake you want to vote for and click on it. Scroll down the page and look for favorite which is beneath the photo. Click on favorite to vote. You may vote for as many cakes as you like. Courteous comments are welcome, but do not count towards the vote.

Please do not solicit votes on other websites. If we discover someone cheated, that person's cake will be disqualified.

Judges will vote from February 24th - 26th.  The winners will be posted on February 28th.

Congratulations, Sandy Morgenstern and Danielle Gouldthorpe!

Just a reminder we are coming to the end of this contest!!  If you've entered a photo by changing the name to "Figure Piping Contest", but it isn't showing up in the featured photos, please message me so I can go in and add it!  Thanks!

Can photos still be posted today? (Friday) or is it to late.

Thanks

Yes, photos can still be submitted today, Sandy.  I think the posting is allowed until  midnight PST (U.S. Pacific Standard Time).  Good Luck!
Hi, why I put my picture and not included.
It is my understanding that figure piping is a 3-D character piped in icing, usually, but not always, done with a variety of straight writing tips, not a flow-in or starred-in flat pattern done on a cake.
Yes, but I saw the pictures and there are cakes like mine.

Unforatunatly i couldnt do figure piping, if it were for makeing roses id be ok , lol so i had to skip this contest , maybe next one i can try depending on what it is LOL
Technically, "piped figures" are 3-Dimensional figures piped onto a cake using royal icing or buttercream, and not a flat character.  We have included all cakes in the featured section that have the words "Figure Piping Contest" in them, but hope those voting will remember what a true piped figure is when placing their votes.  Our panel of professional judges will decide the ultimate winners, so we're hoping the voting reflects an understanding of the criteria for the contest.  Hopefully the next contest will be more straightforward! :)
