Sandie, congrats on your second place award.  I gotta say 'you was robbed!'  A lot of artistry in the 1st place, but I just don't get it.

Congratulations, Sandie!!  Loved your pumpkins!!  They were totally awesome!!! And yes, a big shout out to all the contestants and I'm sorry that some don't get my entry.  There was nothing in the entry instructions about what the cake had to be...just that it had to be a "Fall" cake.  Halloween is in the fall, so I thought this would be appropriate.  I was not expecting to win, but it's an honor that I did and I appreciate it very much.  I hope that you do not feel "robbed", Sandie.  Everyone is a winner in my book.  Again, congrats!  :o)

I think that the winner cake is not fall contest that cake is good for halloween contest,even that I will never eat a cake like that.I think that there were more beautifull cakes isnpired in fall seas. Congrats to you for first place!  I do not feel robbed at all...I am honored to have been in the top ten, let alone to have won 2nd place!  When I was about twenty years younger, I would have been all over a fall halloween theme!  Even though I was not really into cake art back then, I used to do some really outrageous haunted house costumes, makeup and worked at several local hauntings!  I do appreciate what it takes to do all that in your cake!  It is a work of art!  Hope you are not offended by all the people who are saying it is not a fall cake.  As far as I am concerned, the judges knew what they were looking for, and again, I am honored with the status I received.  I am fairly new to this site, and am thrilled to be able to share and learn amongst some of the best artists I have seen around!  Hope to be seeing lots more of your work!  Enjoy the sugar class...I get to learn all about sugarveil, which is also something I am interested in learning!  Nice to meet you and hope you will accept my friend request!  Sandie

I did not think Kathy meant that offensively.  I am sure she was just being overly exuberant to me about my concept of the "fall" meaning.  Anyway, she listed an apology as well.  I am thrilled first, that I was able to make the deadline, as I misunderstood the timing...and second that I won anything at all!  Fairly new to this site, I wanted to show some of my best stuff. and constantly try to outdo each cake I design.  The bus was cartoony because I was asked to make a very funny cake for our friend's son's birthday and that cake was the hit of the party.  Next contest I hope to be able to be organized enough to be able to show how I achieve the effects I am aiming for!  Thanks again to all the judges!  Sandie
