I have been asked to make 100 cupcakes for a wedding in August. They're going to be regular size with buttercream swirl topped with a small flower. The bride wants them displayed on a stand- she's not really picky! Any ideas for how to display 100 cupcakes? Also, her colours are white and fuscia, which I'd like to match the icing to (I do have a swatch from her dress). Any ideas on a good way to make a hot pink/fuscia colour?
Thanks!

Check Costco. I have a couple stands that I bought there. They are display stands for whatever you want to use them for but I use them all the time for cupcakes. I think there are pics in my cupcakes and cookies album. I will check. I also bought a couple small 3 tier stands and use them for the minis. They are so cute and hold a ton of mini cupcakes each.
I checked and the displays were not in my photos so I uploaded them in my cupcake and cookie albums. There are 2 stands got them both from Costco. And in my Wedding cake albums there are a couple pics with cuppies in there too most of these stands are not too expensive. The Costco ones I did not pay over $40 for. The ones at Target were $7.99 each and I got them around Christmas time.
Hi Dia ~ I use Wilton's Rose-Rosa/Rose to make hot pink. AmeriColor has beautiful colors that work great. The two colors that I purchased in their "electric color kit" are Electric Pink and Electric Purple. I believe those two would be the colors that will work well for you and may be your best bet. You can also try mixing them together to get your fuscia color. Good luck on your cupcakes and please post pics when your done. ~ Diana
I have made my own cupcake stands. You really can get creative without spending a lot of money. You can use vases in between the boards, filled with flower petals, glass marbles, or anything you can think of. It's also nice to continue the decoration on to the cake table. Not all of the cupcakes have to fit on the stand. You can add votives, tulle, and anything that picks up the colors you are using. On the cake boards, you can glue fuschia ribbon around the edge and cover the board with either material or decorative paper that goes with your theme.
I made my own cupcake stands using 1/4" sheets of MDF. Drilled a hole in the center of each tier and slid the tiers onto a threaded metal rod. Between each tier I slid a large dowel - probably 1" in diameter. Then it was all held together by a wing nut on the bottom and a screw cap on top. The tiers range in size from 16" square down to 6" square. I painted each of the MDF tiers and the 1" dowels with white paint, then just to be extra cautious about sitting food on the tiers, I covered each tier with white food safe paper. I used silicone glue to glue four "feet" on the bottom that were simply white drawer pulls turned upside down.
I love this idea, Theresa!! What did you make the tiers from- wood or just use the thick cake boards? Did you put a larger one on the bottom and get smaller as you went higher? I love the idea of using glass holders in the middle and putting decorations in them- maybe ribbons and flowers...hmmmm...

Try going to globalsugarart.com and get the americolor fuscia or electric pink and add purple to it just a couple of drops.
The Rose colour worked great! It matched her dress colour perfectly!!! Thanks!
